Juniors and chaperones headed to Norfolk Island for a competition.

Since its establishment in 1963, the Gold Coast Pistol Club has been committed to promoting the sport of target shooting and responsible gun ownership. Our junior shooters represent the future of our club and our sport and in recent years we have invested significantly in facilities and coaching programs for our young members. That investment is paying dividends, with many of our junior shooters performing well at the club, state, and national levels, competing in ISSF (International Sport Shooting Federation) events, as seen at the Olympic and Commonwealth Games. Our Young Guns team members take part in air pistol matches on Wednesday and/or Friday evenings from 5.30pm to 7.30pm and on weekends receive coaching in sports pistol matches using .22LR semi-automatic handguns.

We also welcome young shooters and their parents to our small bore rifle matches, using .22 caliber rifles on our 50-meter pistol range, and to our air rifle matches on Wednesday and Friday evenings.

Whether it’s with rifle or handgun, target shooting is an excellent sport for young people, encouraging self-discipline, concentration, and hand-eye coordination. It promotes responsible gun ownership and is a great way for junior shooters and their parents to establish new friendships with like-minded people in a welcoming and safe environment.
